Rome
There’s something unforgettable about arriving in Rome in April. The air feels softer, the golden light wraps around the ancient stones, and the city seems to breathe history in every corner. I didn’t know it at the time, but it was Rome’s birthday week—and that made everything even more magical.
Wandering Through History
Our apartment, Green Apartments, was just 300 meters from the Colosseum, and waking up to that view felt unreal. From the window, the ancient amphitheater stood proud and quiet in the early morning light—a sight that made me feel like I was stepping into a postcard.
The streets were alive with excitement. For Rome’s birthday celebration, actors dressed as gladiators, legionaries, and ancient Roman figures paraded through the streets. The atmosphere was electric—drums, laughter, shimmering costumes, and crowds cheering. It was like the Empire had come back to life for a day. A moment I’ll never forget.
Exploring Rome the Simple Way
Rome can seem overwhelming at first, but getting around is surprisingly easy. We used the metro every day to move from one part of the city to the other. Fast, affordable, and incredibly convenient, it allowed us to reach all the must-see spots without stress.
One thing that made our trip even easier was the DropTicket app. It allowed us to buy metro, bus, and city transport tickets directly from our phone—no lines, no machines, no confusion. A simple tap, and we were ready to explore. For anyone visiting Rome, this app truly saves time and makes transportation smooth and stress-free.
From the Colosseum, we wandered to the Roman Forum, imagining the voices of merchants, emperors, and philosophers who once walked those very stones.
Then the Pantheon, standing strong and timeless, its oculus sending a gentle beam of light straight from the sky.
The Trevi Fountain sparkled like always—crowded, yes, but impossible not to love.
At the Vatican, we found a sense of calm despite the thousands of visitors, standing in awe before art that has shaped centuries.
Every corner of Rome felt warm, lived-in, and beautifully imperfect. A city that wears its history proudly, while welcoming everyone with open arms.
A Place to Stay, A City to Remember
If you’re planning a trip, I truly recommend Green Apartments near the Colosseum. The location is perfect, the view unforgettable, and waking up surrounded by so much beauty sets the tone for a magical day.
A Small Video Moment
I captured a glimpse of this experience in a YouTube Short—the colors, the music, the gladiator parade, the heartbeat of Rome in spring. It’s just a tiny slice of what I felt, but it captures the mood perfectly.
